Per Taiwan’s Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI), compliance to CNS 13438, Information Technology Equipment – Radio disturbance Characteristics – Limits and Methods of Measurement (Amendment June 1, 2006), is required for ITE and similar equipment which falls under mandatory inspection category. Testing to conducted emissions telecom ports and radiated emissions above 1GHz were not mandatory in the past.  In order to further ensure consumer safety, these two additional tests became required as of October 1, 2010.

The above 1GHz testing requirement is applicable only if EUT has any internal sources with clock frequencies higher than 108MHz; this rational is very similar to FCC part 15, subpart B uses for above 1GHz testing applicability.

ITE product manufacturers with an existing Declaration of Conformity are required to have them updated by March 1, 2011 in order to ensure compliance of their products.
