Event Details

Helping you understand wireless compliance, test challenges, and the major RED directive changes to help you develop, improve and maintain quality products, components and systems.

With the abandonment of wired communication interfaces in favor of wireless communication, new technologies have ushered in a wave of new wireless devices. Today, demanding testing needs and regulatory changes put wireless product manufacturers under pressure to keep up with market requirements. Due to the integration of the latest wireless technologies, EMI/EMC testing for vehicles is a top priority for safety and also needs to spread to the field of wireless communication.

In this seminar, we’ll discuss trends in North American compliance, international standards and the future direction for these changes. Testing experts from MET will present the needs around the convergence of wireless technology.

MET Laboratories – Texas | 13501 McCallen Pass | Austin, TX 78753

What You’ll Learn

FCC (Federal Communications Commission) Compliance
Wireless modules are increasingly being integrated into everyday products, like refrigerators, cars, and consumer medical devices. In order for a wireless module to meet the requirements of FCC Part 15, it must comply with the requirements for shielded circuitry, a unique antenna connector, stand-alone configuration, and RF exposure limits. Once these guidelines are met, FCC modular approval is granted through a TCB like MET Labs, and the product may be operated under certain conditions of use. This presentation with give you critical insights into TCB certification, CFR Part 15 requirements, Licensed vs. unlicensed radio devices and more.

An in-depth Overview of EU wireless requirements
With the imminent deadline for the Radio Equipment Directive fast approaching, this presentation will go over EU wireless requirements and the challenges for wireless product manufacturers in light of the transition from the R&TTE Directive. We will explore manufacturer responsibilities under the RE Directive, guidelines for labeling equipment and EN 300 328 revisions.

Wi-Fi Alliance Testing & Certification
Wi-Fi products undergo rigorous testing by Independent Test Laboratories to receive Wi-Fi Certification. When a product successfully passes testing, manufacturers are then granted the right to use the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED logo. From Wi-Fi 802.11ac/ad/ah/n to interoperability, Security, Backward compatibility, and Market entry; this presentation will give you critical insights and expert advice into Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ compliance to IEEE and Wi-Fi Alliance® standards as it applies to your products along with the future of Wi-Fi certification for products in consumer markets.
