What is an NRTL Field Evaluation?

First, a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) is an independent 3rd party testing agency, accredited by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

A Field Evaluation is a critical safety assessment for electrical equipment that has no existing certification or has lost its certification through modification.  Many jurisdictions require these inspections to be performed by an NRTL; hence the term NRTL Field Evaluation.  This inspection, when conducted by an accredited agency, ensures the equipment complies with local codes and satisfies your local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).
