Environmental Simulation Testing Capabilities: »

Global demand for tough, reliable, and quality-assured equipment is greater than ever. Today, manufacturers face a wide set of stringent compliance challenges for demonstrating environmental hardiness.

Expertise and world-class facilities to meet your development schedule & compliance needs for market acceptance.

Eurofins’ Environmental Simulation Labs, on both coasts, employ numerous environmental chambers, including several large walk-in chambers. Hydraulic and electro-dynamic shakers are used for a wide range of vibration testing, from ISTA packaging to seismic compliance testing. Eurofins’ hydraulic vibration systems are capable of full level (Zone 4) seismic simulation

What is an Environmental Simulation?

An environmental simulation is the replication of climatic or dynamic conditions that occur in various situations to evaluate the ability of a product, device, or piece of equipment to resist the applied environmental stressors. Replicating expected environmental stressors is important to prove rugged performance, durability, and life expectancy of equipment to ensure that the components or systems will not fail during the expected environmental conditions in which the equipment will be used. Examples of common environmental simulations include:

• Impact Resistance
• Drop Testing
• Shock and Vibration
• Temperature Cycling
• Flame Testing
• Fungal Resistance
• Altitude
• Ingress Protection

Why should I perform Environmental Simulations?
Environmental Simulations help verify the ruggedness and durability of products and equipment. For products that will be commonly exposed to any of the above stressors, it is important to ensure that they are able to survive and function throughout the exposure without a permanent degradation of performance. Environmental simulations are used to prove product characteristics like water-proof, rugged, semi-rugged, and resistance to fire/flammability.
