MET Laboratories Warns of Unauthorized Use of the MET Certification Mark on Energy Saving Devices
Friday, March 06, 2015 – It has come to MET’s attention that an electrical product is on the market in Ontario, Canada that bears the MET certification mark without MET’s authorization to do so. This particular product is an energy saving device bearing the model number F-5005 with a rating of 5KW, and no other electrical information. It may also bear the manufacturer name Enposs Co. Ltd.
Though MET has not authorized the use of our mark on this product that does not necessarily mean there is a hazard; however, we encourage users of this product to discontinue its use and to contact the seller for further instructions. MET cannot vouch for this product’s compliance with electrical safety requirements.
The Electrical Safety Authority of Ontario may enforce a product recall. Though we have no reports outside of Ontario, should this product be found in other provinces of Canada or within the United States the same misuse notification applies. We encourage reports of use in other regions be sent to MET Laboratories.
Lastly, please take note that MET has approved an Enposs model FORCE, rated 100-600V,
60Hx, 50KVa. This model is not affected by this notification.
