Australia & New Zealand RCM Mark

As of March 1, 2013, the RCM mark will be the only mark to indicate compliance with the Australian Communications and Media Authority’s (ACMA) regulatory arrangements for telecommunications, radio, EMC and electromagnetic energy (EME).

All new devices that are physically labeled for the first time from March 1, 2013 will need to be labeled with the RCM. The use of the C-Tick and A-Tick marks on all legacy products will be phased out by March 1, 2016.

China CCC Mark & Taiwan BSMI Mark

China's CCC MarkChina is home to Eurofins MET Labs’ largest foreign office.  Asia is an important and growing market for our customers.  For manufacturers seeking to access the China or Taiwan market, Eurofins MET Labs can help with safety and EMC testing for the BSMI mark (Taiwan) or safety and EMC testing for the CCC mark (China).

For Asian manufacturers seeking to access the North American market, Eurofins MET Labs’ China office provides product safety evaluation and testing services.Taiwan BSMi Mark for EMC Headquartered in Shenzhen, China, our product safety engineers evaluate manufacturing facilities and team with local partner test labs for product safety testing. Compliance is required to access the North American marketplace, and the MET mark is a growing alternative to UL.  To find out more, visit the MET China website that is dedicated to helping China manufacturers gain North American NRTL safety certification.

Eurofins MET Labs has Recognized Testing Agency (RTA) status with Hong Kong’s OFTA (Office of Telecommunications Authority). Our locations in Maryland and California are approved to conduct evaluation tests of analog (HKTA 2011) and digital (HKTA 2017) wire-line equipment against HKTA specifications under the Hong Kong Telecommunications Equipment Evaluation and Certification (HKTEC) Scheme.

Eurofins MET Labs also performs telecom testing to ADSL01PSTN01 for Taiwan, and analog testing to YD/T 514-1998 for China.

India Electrical Testing for ISI Mark

Eurofins MET Labs can help manufacturers selling in India to attain the ISI mark or CB Scheme certification.

Mandatory Safety: Yes
Mandatory EMC/TEL: Yes

Eurofins MET Labs performs telecom testing to IR/FAX-01S/INT-2 W/02 (Analog) for India.

Not all product categories are subject to regulatory compliance in India.

Japan VCCI Mark

Eurofins MET Labs can help Japanese companies access the North American market, and North American companies access the Japanese market.

VCCI EMC Mark for JapnFor electronic manufacturers seeking to enter the Japanese market, Eurofins MET Labs can help attain the VCCI Mark for EMC.  Our facilities are registered in accordance with the Rules for the Voluntary Control Measures, provided by The Voluntary Control Council for Interference by Information Technology Equipment (VCCI), to test Information Technology Equipment to the Technical Requirements under V-3/2011.04.

For Japanese telecom approvals, Eurofins MET Labs tests to JATE 1.5M, 2M & Analog.

For product safety certification, Eurofins MET Labs partners with COSMOS, a Japanese-accredited Authorized Assessment Body that has been approved by Eurofins MET Labs to perform testing for safety certification for the US and Canadian market.

COSMOS will also perform the required factory follow-up inspections in Japan.

Korea KC Mark

Under phase I of the APEC TEL MRA, Eurofins MET Labs is a recognized CAB – a designated foreign lab performing EMC KC testing for the Korean marketplace.  Korea’s Radio Research Laboratory (RRL) will accept Eurofins MET Labs testing and reports and will issue certificates to customers that submit our test reports.

Eurofins MET Labs has signed an MoU with these Korean laboratories:

  • Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR)
  • EMC Research Institute (ERI)
  • Korea Electrical Testing Institute
  • Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL)

These Eurofins MET Labs partners will allow Korean-based manufacturers requiring safety certifications for North America to gain it locally.

Conversely, North American-based customers can attain market access in Korea by working with Eurofins MET Labs. These partnerships will give manufacturers the ability to reduce certification costs while improving their time to market.

Russia GOST R & CU TR

In February 2013 the national Russian certification system GOST R and national Russian technical regulation “On Safety of Machinery Equipment” were withdrawn.

Simultaneously, the new Customs Union Technical Regulation (CU TR) for most electrical products was enforced in Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.

Earlier issued GOST R certificates will be valid until March 15, 2015.  After that, the new EAC mark must be used.

The Common Production Mark will be used for marking of products in the Customs Union (CU) and Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC or EurAsEC).  The Customs Union is made up of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus.  EAEC countries include the CU countries, plus Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

The Mark is analogous with the European Union’s CE mark for product safety.

Of note: There are a number of changes in the CU TR for manufacturers of mass-produced products.
Here are a couple of the most significant:

  • The certification applicant must have a formal relationship (contract) with a Russian representative legal entity.  With GOST, this was not required.
  • Mandatory factory audits are performed by a Russian certification body.  With GOST, a test lab could do this.

Eurofins MET Labs partners with Russian ELMAS Group for market access to Russia and CIS Countries. ELMAS  is a Russian-accredited Authorized Assessment Body and can provide product certification services for any North American company planning to access the Russian Federation (RF) market.
